We are going to fast forward briefly here for the blog. Mallory recently got her first set of ice skates. This is video from today, not too bad for only her second time out.

Memorial Day - Minnesota Zoo
Wanting to take advantage of the long holiday weekend, we all went down to the Minnesota Zoo to check out some of the new exhibits.
One area we visited for the first time was the large new playground that was put in. Mallory and Mom went climbing up into the tree house.
Then Mallory tried her hand at a fishing boat.
Then it was back inside to check out some marine life. Mallory is helping Dad find the fish, as he was never a very good fisherman.
It turns out if we wanted to see some wildlife we could have saved ourselves the trip, as we had wild turkeys in our backyard when we returned.

The Held family spent their first Memorial Day in a long time at home in Plymouth, so there was plenty of time for the gang to go on some adventures. First off was a picnic at Medicine Lake, just a short bike ride from the house.
After eating some delicious PB&J sandwiches, Mallory had some energy and was ready to conquer the tire swing.
Dad was too, apparently, as he wasn't about to let Mallory have all the fun.

Twins Game
Mallory didn't get enough partying done the night before the party, so she decided to go to another Twins game the next day.
Mallory got her Twins shirt and hat on...
...and a backpack filled with lots of snacks.
She loved walking in the skyways on the way to the game.
Not quite the VIP seats we had last time, but still pretty good.

On May 23, 2010, Nama and Papa Held celebrated their 40th Wedding Annivesary. Jamie, Steve and Mallory threw them a surprise party at the house.
Mom and Mallory make sure that the cooler is stocked with beverages for everybody.
They got the easy end of the party preparations, as Dad was busy mowing the lawn.
Mallory put on a special party dress for the occassion.
And shared some special anniversary cake with Papa Larry.
