Dancercise Recital - Feb. 2011

On Tuesday mornings at her daycare, Mallory and some friends gets to participate in Dancercise. Every quarter they have a big recital at school for Mom and Dad to come check out her dance moves.

On Dancercise days, Mallory usually dresses herself, including a dress or skirt that is good for doing twirls.

Watching intently at the instruction of Miss Andrea.

The recital is fun to watch, especially trying to get 10-12 3 year olds to stay on their mark.

The phrase "trying to herd cats" frequently comes to mind.

But Mallory has a blast attending class and showing off her moves at the recital, and will be taking another dance class this fall.

3rd Birthday Party

For Mallory's third birthday, we had a small gathering with immediate family at our house. Of course, there were lots of presents to be opened.

Here Mom is helping Mallory read the card for who the gift is from (or is it vice versa?)

She is checking out her new food set, which is used quite often in the "kitchen" downstairs (aka the room formerly known as Dad's Man Cave)

"Ohmygodohmygodohmygod!!!!"

What little girl's birthday party would be complete without her own tiara?

And some quality time in her new Princess tent with Dad and UB.

Ice Skating

This winter, Mallory got her very first set of ice skates. So on a non-40 degrees below day, the family headed out to a local rink to get some practice.

Since Dad doesn't have skates (and wouldn't know what to do if he had them), Mom took over the teaching duty.

This shopping cart proved to be a good tool to teach her how to keep her balance.

She proved to be very adept at pushing herself around the ice.

And limited her falls to a scare few.

Of course, it wasn't all work. Mallory and Mom found the time to make some snow angels on the ice.

Scooter Pads

For Christmas, Mallory got a new scooter and matching pads from Nama and Papa Larry.

So even though it was only January, it was time to take the scooter for a test drive. "Again with the pictures Dad?"

Elbow pads - check. Knee pads - check.

Time to scoot through the kitchen, around the red room, through the hallway, and back to the kitchen. No injuries to report.

New Mom's Group 3 Year Old Party

Jamie's new Mom's group held their annual birthday party in January for all the kids that were turning 3 in the next month.

Mallory went to her stylist and got a special hair-do for the occasion.

All the kids waited patiently around the table for the cupcake decorating to begin.

Mallory put extra sprinkles on hers and it was ready to go.

Mmm....mmm...good.

After the kids cam down from their sugar high it was time for a group photo with all the moms (and one dad).

Christmas 2010 - Part III

One last Christmas celebration.

Mallory helped Dad find all the goodies in his stocking.

Another appearance by Santa. He must have forgotten to drop off one of his presents at the house.

Mom and Mallory posing with her new baby.

Christmas 2010 - Part II

One of the presents that Santa brought was a new basketball hoop (or basketball shooter as Mallory calls it). So of course we had to try it out almost immediately.

Starting off with the right handed lay-up.

She called "bank" on this one.

Not bad form. Mom and Dad spent the next 5 minutes arguing over whose basketball genes she received.
