Sophie One-Month Photos

Once the Christmas festivities settled down, we got some one-month (or shortly thereafter) photos of Sophie.

Mallory even got in on the action with her new camera that she got from Nama and Papa for Christmas.

Christmas Day 2011

Santa must have enjoyed the milk, because he brought lots of good presents for the girls.

Mallory shows off her new Leapfrog e-reader from cousin Ethan.

Then it was downstairs to check out her new soccer/hockey/lacrosse set.

Um, Daddy, I think that was for Mallory.

After another gathering with the Flahertys, the girls cuddled with Aunt Jill for one last book.

Christmas Eve 2011

Sophie's first Christmas was full of fun and excitement.  After the kids' mass at church, it was back to the house for dinner with Nama and Papa Larry.

Mallory got to show her little sister the Christmas tree and how to open up presents.

Santa gets a special treat when he comes to the Held house for milk and cookies:  three different kinds of milk.

Ballet and Tap Class

This fall and winter Mallory took her first official dance class through the Plymouth Parks & Rec Department.  The class was part ballet and part tap, which is just as loud as you would expect.

Of course the kids had to do some stretches before they could really get into it.

Bounce bounce bounce, tap-a tap-a tap-a.

We are still wondering where she is getting this long, lean figure.

Reading Books

Our nighttime book reading routine had added an extra member with Sophie in the mix.

 So far Sophie hasn't put up too much of a stink about the books, as you can see.

Apparently neither Aladdin or A Busy Day was interesting enough to hold her attention.

Best Buy Holiday Party

Back in December, Jamie packed up the girls and headed out to meet Daddy at Best Buy for the annual holiday party.

 Mallory and Dad got to decorate some Christmas sugar cookies...

 ...while Mom and Sophie hung out nearby.

 The girls put on their pretties scarves and dressed up as snow-kids.

After Mallory and Sophie got to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, Mommy and Sophie were lucky enough to get their picture taken with Mallory the Red Nosed Reindeer.

Sophie Bath

When Sophie finally got her hip brace off, that meant we were finally able to give Sophie a full bath.

 Sophie was a willing participant in getting into her new bathtub.  Much better than getting patted down with wash clothes for the first couple weeks.

 And of course, big sister was right there with her and was quite the helper when it came to washing her hair.

Mallory wasn't quite as eager to share her lion towel with Sophie though...

Cookie Making

A lack of snow didn't keep the girls from makine some Christmas cookies.

 Mallory was working hard getting all the dough ready.

 But still found time to make sure all the chocolate was accounted for.

And when the cookie baking was done, the girls still had enough energy to pose for a picture in their Santa hats.

Winter Dancercise Recital

 The December dancercise recital at school presented Mallory an opportunity to wear one of her best twirly dresses...

 ...and her fancy dancing shoes...

...and some of her best dancing moves.
