Well it was about a week and a half longer than Jamie had hoped, but she finally got rid of the watermelon that was residing in her mid-section. On November 21, 2011, Sophie Ellen Held introduced herself to the world at 1:20 PM.
The labor and delivery went off without a hitch, at least from Dad's perspective.
Sophie weighed in at 7 lbs, 11 oz. and was 21 inches long.
After her first bath, which she did not particularly enjoy, it was time...

It didn't take long for Mallory to settle into her role as big sister.
Luckily, the new baby excitement didn't wear off at all. Mallory was all about holding Sophie at every possible opportunity.
In fact, Mallory didn't want to be away from Sophie at all.
Sophie was able to get away for a bit and get some well-earned rest.
But when Sophie got hungry, Mallory was right there to lend a hand.
Day #2 got off to a slow start, as little Sophie did plenty of sleeping.
But then it was time for plenty of guests to show up, including Mallory's cousin Ethan.
The gang was quick to leave the hospital the first chance they got so they could get back home and do some snuggling in Mallory's bed.
