Canterbury Park

In August, we took a trip down to Canterbury Park for a U of M Alumni Event. Bobo and Brian tagged along as the other Held kids.

Mallory spent a lot of time on the rail studying the horses.

And having fun with Daddy and UB.

And of course, there was live music so Mallory spent a good chunk of time dancing with Bobo.

And then more dancing with Mommy. Is everyone sensing a pattern here yet with the dancing?

Mallory didn't have time to look up for this photo, she was too busy studying the Daily Racing Form.

Duluth Conference - Part II

During more of our free time from the conference, we checked out the Tall Ships convention.

There were many ships that looked like old pirate ships in the harbor...

...and taking people on rides. Unfortunately we didn't win the door prize of a free ride.

So we had to look at the boats from afar.

And we took the opportunity to get a rare family photo.

Mallory once again was the life of the party at the conference networking event, tearing up the dance floor and rocking some balloons.

Duluth Conference - Part I

Courtesy of Held Law Office, Mallory and Dad got to take along to one of Mommy's work conferences in Duluth at the beginning of August.

Upon arriving, we made our way into Canal Park to check out the Big Lake. Mallory played the role of tourist quite well.
She was enamored with the fountains along the sidewalk and even deemed them good enough to drink out of.

Sure enough, after a couple minutes she was soaked from head to toe.

Luckily her and Dad found some good rocks to sun themselves on and dry off.

Kopacek Wedding

No time for rest in the Held family. Right after getting back from Bayfield, it was off to another adventure. This time to the wedding of Lisa Kopacek, a friend of the family.

Mallory took advantage of the nice weather during the cocktail hour.

After dinner we had just enough time for a quick snack before hitting the dance floor. Dad is taking a quick rest because he knows what the rest of the evening has in store...

Dancing, dancing, and

...more dancing. We literally had to pull Mallory off the dance floor, even though it was well past her bedtime. She was none too pleased.

Bayfield Vacation

Over the 4th of July, the entire Flaherty family (including the brother-in-laws) took a week long trip to Bayfield, WI, on the southeastern side of Lake Superior.

Mallory felt quite at home on the boat ride to check out all the islands.

She also got some quality time in on the beach to work on her tan.

And some serious playing with Aunt Jill at the playground.

Mallory was all about the Big Lake. Whether it was enjoying the view from a large rock....

...or getting our toes wet with Dad (nice farmers tan!).
