Solid Foods

Over the last couple weeks, we have started to introduce Mallory to solid foods. Her first experience has been with rice cereal. Take a look at the results...

She went through a whole serving, but we are not sure how much actually ended up in her mouth.

Although it doesn't look like it, the intro to solids has been somewhat of a success. She has gotten a lot better at eating and likes holding the spoon herself.

"Why are you doing this to me? What was wrong with the milk?"

We are hoping that at some point she can star in her own "Got Rice Cereal?" commercial...

Beach Bum

One of Mallory's favorite summer activities has been hanging out at the beach.

Here she is with her friend Ava, who is a month younger than Mallory.

Here they are talking about all the ways that they control their respective families.

5 months old

On July 9th, Mallory turned five months old. She now weighs in at just under 16 pounds (almost double her birth weight!)

Grandpa Held gave Mallory a nice balloon so she could celebrate.

Mallory has been working hard this month on getting onto a good nap and sleep schedule.

She is showing much more emotion now and is capable of having lengthy conversations with her parents and others. Still tough to understand what she is saying though.

She has begun to smile and giggle a lot, especially when her mom and dad sing special songs to her.

"Are we done yet? This photo shoot has been exhausting."

4th of July - Part 1

Over the 4th of July weekend, Mallory and family went down to Wabasha and hung out on a houseboat on the Mississippi River. The Mighty Mississipp. The Old Miss. The Old Man. Deeeeeeep Riverrrrr.

Mallory looks pretty comfortable steering the raft here...

...but i think she is having more fun just hanging out with Mom.

Here is the whole family floating lazily down the river. Hey Steve, stop playing with your dinghy!

4th of July - Part 2

More photos from the weekend...

Here is Mom and Mallory all snuggled up after taking a dip in the river.

Mallory was able to pull her dad away from the sun for a few minutes so that he could help her take a nap.

After a long day, Steve, Mallory and the Murray's relax with a cool brandy in front of the fire.

Jodie and Mallory hanging out on the front deck of the boat...moments before it was under water.
