Nap Time

Here is an example of what mid-afternoon nap time looks like at the Held house.

Mallie in her swing, Samson right in front protecting her.

Actually, I am not sure that Mallory is all that safe with Samson as the watchdog. He doesn't appear to be on "red alert".

Jumperoo

Now that Mallory has gotten a little older and stronger, she has started going into her Jumperoo. Here she is modelling her new ride in the living room.

She sure does seem to be enjoying herself...

She is usually good for about 10 or 15 minutes in here before she loses interest. Sometimes it is even long enough for Mom and Dad to eat dinner!

Happy Baby Pose

Mallory has recently discovered that she can grab her own feet. Now it is a good bet that if her hands are free that she has a good hold of her toes.

"See Mom, all those yoga classes are coming in handy now."

Here is Mallory with a mouthful of toes.

This photo will definitely be used for her high school graduation party...

Skydiving

On Father's Day, Mallory somehow convinced her mom to let Dad go jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. So the family spent the day in Baldwin, WI and watched Steve jump from 13,000 feet.

See if you can tell who is more nervous: Mallory, Steve, or Jamie

Steve and Nick heading for the plane. "I feel the need. The need...for speed."

"Hey Mallory, I made it back in one piece!"

Driving Range

A couple weeks ago, Mallory was nice enough to come to the driving range so her Mom and Dad could hit a few balls.

"Hey Dad, your swing looks like an unfolded lawn chair!"
"Wow, Mom hits it much straighter than you do."

4 Months

June 9th represented Mallory's 4-month birthday. She celebrated by going to the Doctor's office for a check-up and a bunch of shots. She weighed in at 14 lbs 4 oz and was 25 inches long.

Mallory loves grabbing everything within reach. This is a rare time where one of her toys isn't in her mouth.

She has started to laugh and giggle.

She has become much more interactive and really likes to be sung to.

And she shows a lot of emotions with her face. This one is her sad puppy dog face, which she learned from Sammers.

Mallory's First Lutsen Trip - Part 1

Over the Memorial Day weekend, Mallory made her first trip up to Lutsen, MN to see Steve's Aunt and Uncle, Nancy and Tom Held. All of us had a great time, despite some chilly weather.

Here is the family (including Samson) near Christine Lake. Mallory is checking out a creek below.

That's why we come out here. Nature...

Here are the Held's hiking on Jamie and Steve's property, trying to work off some of Nancy's famous lemon chicken.

Jamie and Mallory hanging out at the bonfire. Not pictured is the s'more that Jamie was about to take down.

Some more photos...

Here is the family in front of the beaver pond on their property in Schroeder.

"That was a long hike. Someone get me a drink!!!"

Here are Tom, Steve, and Mallory laughing about how cold it is...IN MAY!
Mallory's first encounter with Lake Superior. Sadly, it was too cold for her to take a dip. Maybe next time...

#1 Softball Fan

On the last weekend in May, Mallory (with Mom and Samson, of course) came out to Round Lake Park to watch her dad play in a softball tournament.

Here are Dad, Mallory and Sammers relaxing after a tough win for the Dairy Queen Hot Dogs.

Mallory is wondering how her and Mom are going to get that grass stain out of Dad's softball pants...

Lake Nokomis

Jamie took some group golf lessons this spring at Hiawatha Golf Course. While she was busy working on her short game, Mallory and Dad went for a walk around Lake Nokomis.

Here is Mallory and Dad before the walk. They both are super excited for a trip around the lake!

"My hat and my drool rag match perfectly."

First Twins Game

On May 22, Mallory went to her first ever Twins game against the Texas Rangers.

Here she is with Grandma Judie getting ready to head down to the Dome.

Sadly, since this was a day game after a night game, she has absolutely no chance of seeing Joe Mauer behind the plate.

Aunt Jodie's Graduation

Back on Mother's Day weekend, Mallory made her first trip outside state lines. Her Aunt Jodie was graduating from the Creighton University School of Pharmacy in Omaha, and Mallory wanted to be there to show her support.

Here is Mallory hanging out with the Flaherty girls...

Boy, was that a long graduation ceremony.
